Cankle Update

Well, I went to see a specialist yesterday, and he concluded that I've torn a bunch of ligaments in my ankle.

It's a 3rd degree sprain, and I may have even cracked my tibia bone, which would explain the crunch sound when I fell. Luckily, he sais my bone integrity is still good enough to not have to have surgery, and so he put me in one of these bad boys for 2 weeks, and then he'll make sure the ligaments have healed together on their own, and I can go back to just a splint.

I was surprised to get a call from the Church office building this morning, asking if I am doing okay, and if I have sufficent medical insurance to take care of my medical bills. He also was sure to ask me if I needed any compensation for the accident, to help pay my portion! How nice!! I, of course, declined, but was very impressed that they would do that! I mean, I'd be more than happy with President Monson just coming over and healing it, then a bunch of money! :)

*Sidenote- When they were getting me into the wheelchair, just after it happened, Gerritt put his arm on one of the little old men and said "Well, I sure hope you guys have good lawyers..!" They had a good laugh about that.

My sweet Mom and Tom have been kind enough to take the boys for me these past few days, and they are going up to the family cabin today, so I might end up going with them, for the rest of this week. It's gotta be better than laying around here, alone, all day! Gerritt's been working 12 hour shifts, and then doing gobs of homework, so, needless to say, I'm bored out of my mind.

Hope everyone is doing well, and thanks for all the get well soon wishes! Much appreciated!! :)

Ugh, I had to sport an ugly boot like that one for a few weeks too. Thank goodness it was winter and my bootcut jeans covered most of it!

Stylin'!!!

I hope the "boot" does the trick to let your ligaments and such mend! Keep resting, mama! Feel better soon!

Its not a boot, its a cankle-covering accessory. That and are you sure its not too late for G-Ray to become a liar, I mean lawyer, with me?

Look at the bright side--your legs will be two toned just in time for summer........:)
I really can't believe that happened in the temple. That's one story that's going to be told for generations!
I hope you feel better! Hopefully it't not too much trouble to take care of two kids and get around (yeah right, but I'm still hoping)!

How sad! That doesn't look fun at all. But I must say that it gave me a good laugh to read your experience because I was also under the impression that you can't get hurt in the temple!
