This past Wednesday, my sweet Grandma and Grandpa were treated to a "last wish" by the Hospice that takes care of them. My Grandpa has always been a huge fan of horses, and has owned many of his own, but nowdays he's not been able to even walk because of the strain it puts on his heart. He has congestive heart failure, and it isn't looking like he's going to be here much longer, so these AMAZING people from the center arranged for a horse and carriage ride for him and my Grandma (who is in the final stages of Alzheimer's) to ride around the loop at Murray park.
We were all in tears as we could see how much it meant to my Grandpa, to be able to be outside one last time, and to see the horses and spend some time with his wife. They don't see each other very often since my Grandma is taken care of at my Aunt's and Mom's homes, while he is at the Hospice, so just to see them together is so sweet. Subway even sponsored the whole event, so there was free food for everyone too! I have never seen so many people take such a personal interest in just a little, old couple and their family - it was SO inspiring! I hope these people are really blessed for their service - it meant the world to all of us. :)
