So...those of us that live here in Utah, if they saw this woman in a crowd, might say "Hey! There's Kerri Cronk - the news anchor for Fox 13! Cool!"
Well, not me.
Actually, ever since we got Dish and we have 10 gazillion channels, I hardly ever go into the single digits. Why have chicken when you can have steak?
Tonight, I proved that I am a complete and total idiot. And I should have been watching the news more often.
While mingling at my dear cousin's wedding, a woman was standing near me and warmly said "Hi", so being the conversationalist, I started chatting with her. Here's how it went:
Me: Hi! How are you?!
Her: Good! How are you doing?
Me: I'm doing great! It's been a long time since I've seen you!
Her: Yeah...........is really has! (a twinge of weirdness here)
Me: So, what's been going on? Anything new?
Her: Ummmmm......nothing too much.
Me: Ohhhhh...... (definitely weird)
Me: Wow - your boys are getting so big! (even weirder)
Her: Yeah - they really are!
And then we awkwardly turned away from each other and I started feeling like something is definitely wrong...I thought this women was a stepsister of my cousin, that I hadn't seen in a while - and since her face was just so dang familiar, I just assumed I knew her.
And then it dawned on me. It was Kerri Cronk. Of course she's familiar looking, you moron!
Not very cool, Emily. Not. cool.
Luckily for me, I can pretend that it's her fault that she didn't remember me.

Yes, Cade is a ginger. It's true. Those freckles do reveal themselves when the sun is about, and the twinge of red in his eyebrows confirms that ginger test. Gingers, Unite!
At least you can take heart that she's not a real newscaster...right? I mean, Fox only reports on American Idol and Paris Hilton, so it doesn't really matter that you didn't know who she was. The joke, my friend, is really on HER.
