Cross Off Another "Raising Boys" Experience!

I just have to put this on the blog for posterity's sake. Plus, I want to remember what kind of shenanigans my child has pulled when he was a child, and somehow we all lived through them.

The other day I was on the busily typing on the computer (no surpise here) when Max announced that he needed to use the bathroom. Without turning around, I told him to go ahead and go, and a few minutes later he came walking back to me with, what I expected, to button up his pants. Well, he said something as he was walking like "Mommy! I hurt myself!", and when I turned around, he had no pants on, and there was blood on his legs, his hands, and to my horror, Mr. Peeps.

I ran him into the bathroom to assess the damage, and to find out exactly what tool he used in the crime, and when I got in there I saw only a hairbrush and a sharp comb on the floor. I started quizzing him if he had hurt himself with the comb - No. - was it the hairbrush - No. Poor little guy was SO scared that his little knees were just knocking together and he was shaking, scared to death that he had done some REALLY bad this time. I wiped him all off and saw that there was just a tiny little cut, and kept asking him what had happened. I finally opened one of my drawers (ironically, the one where the child lock is broken!), and just started lifting things out and asking him if it was what had cut him. He kept saying 'No' until I got to these..........

Yes. My son has performed some kind of male episiotomy on himself and placed a pair of scissors IN, poor Mr. Peeper, and did a little snip.

WHAT IN THE?! WHO....WHAT.....WHYYYY?????

Many things about men I will never understand, but if this is the way they grow up, I'm beginning to understand some. Not a smart choice, son. But, I have a feeling he's learned his lesson. After all was said and done, he said to me "Mommy - I NEVER do that AGAIN!! That weely scared me!!!"

Wow, I cringe just reading about it. That's definitely a story he'll laugh about one day.

Wow. Poor Mr. Peeps. As Elaine says on Seinfeld, "I don't know how you guys walk around with those things!" Seriously. Glad he's okay and didn't do some serious damage!

Wow, that is soooo not what I was expecting him to have done. That is seriously so crazy! maybe he'll be a pediatrician. Seems like he's got circumcision down pat!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh. I told Cade and he actually cried. Real tears. I'm sure he'll give Max a pretty big hug when he sees him.

You are horrifying me. I can totally imagine my wild Dallin doing this in a few years. Scissors will need to be stored high for sure.
Poor Max, I hope its feeling a bit better, guess he didnt know how bad life might be without it!

the question "why?" always comes to mind when discussing things boys do...I guess we'll learn that we just can't understand why they do somethings. poor guy. glad he's okay.

Look like we've got a future pediatrician in the making! Poor little guy! Don't we wonder what is running through their little minds sometimes--on second thought, maybe we're better off not knowing! Hope you're all doing well now.
