Poor little Oliver!

I got a call last night that RJ and Rusti's little Oliver had broken his leg - turns out he had just falled down when running around with his sister, and he broke his femur bone!! SO SAD!! They had to go up to Primary Children's to have it set in the O.R., under anesthesia, and he has to wear a huge cast that goes up to his ribcage and down to one ankle, for about 5 weeks. I felt so bad for him - he looked like he was in so much pain! They put him on morphine, so that seemed to help a lot, but it's so traumatizing to see a kid that little hooked up to IV's and looking so broken. I can't imagine how the staff can do it, emotionally - seeing all those little kids and babies all day and night. You could hear babies screaming the whole 3 hours that I was there. :(

Other than that, we had a fun weekend as a family. Gerritt skipped work on Saturday and we just hung out and went shopping. I got some much needed new shoes, that I loooove, so that's exciting for me! Gerritt got his application filled out for the flight program at UVSC this morning, so we're getting close to getting this started. I can't wait for him to be done with school! I can wait until we have to get the $65K student loan though.. in addition to our $20K that we've already taken out. ugh. It'll be worth it - I have to keep telling myself! lol
