Hill Aerospace Museum and the 24th Parade!

So, after 2+ years of Gerritt working up at Hill Air Force Base, I decided it's probably time to get up there and see what it's all about.

He took us to the Aerospace Museum and, suprisingly, it was really cool! Max loved the planes and I could see how proud Gerritt was when he showed us the hangars where he works on base. I've never been up there in my life, so it was a fun little adventure!

Here's Max in a miniature flight suit - I love his face through the helmet.

Some guy was standing on the ropes that were around a big transport helicopter, and was letting people go inside it. He was dressed in normal clothes and I wondered if he was just a dude that thought it would be cool if he acted like he could do that - I still don't know - but, it was pretty awesome none the less!

Max is a little down in this picture because he's afraid this bomb is going to "get" him.

Gerritt and Max under an airplane - so Max can see where they put the bombs. (see above picture of why Max is so scared of bombs)

The good old Pioneer Day Parade! Gerritt was working this day, so I called my Mom at 11:30 (cause I knew she's always up for a parade!) and we headed down to Liberty Park. It was PERFECT - we got there for the last hour and then we walked across the street to the park where they had all kinds of bounce houses and activities for kids.

Max LOVED the marching bands and I had to keep him from "marching" out into the street a few times.

What an awesome weekend!

Bouncey houses?! Awesome! And I would be shaking in my booties too if I had to stand next to that bomb for a picture. It's so crazy how much Max & Gerritt look alike, you can really see it in those pictures!
