So.......I'm feeling really guilty right now.
I have been so tired of being the only one taking care of our hyper terrier, and I'm so tired of getting Hudson away from her bones, bed, food, and just being grossed out about him crawling on the ground with her. I feel like she deserves to have a home where she can thrive and get the exercise and attention that she needs, and I just don't think I can provide that for her with 2 small children.
I decided to put out an ad on ksl.com, just to see if we could even get anyone that might be interested in her. I figured it might take a few weeks. Well, while I was at church this morning, I had all kinds of people calling and leaving messages for her. I had 2 appointments to look at her tonight, and the first one was a cute family of 8 kids, with a fully fenced yard, doggy door, and the moment they saw her they were in love. I don't think I ever really felt that for her.... They were so happy, and I just knew they would do a great job with her, so I sold her! I can't believe she's gone - and I feel so responsible for her well-being, so I'm feely really guilty about the whole thing. I told Max that she was going to go play at their house and at first he said that he wanted to go with her, but quickly was distracted into something else. I just hope he doesn't start asking about her because it will really break my heart. The boys have just loved her and that was really the only reason I've kept her around.
Anyway, I just had to get that off my chest, and give her a little formal adieu. Good luck, Ruby!

Sorry to hear about Ruby! We had to do this years ago, but we had two dogs. It broke my heart, but I just wasn't taking good care of them (on top of my 2 babies and other issues going on at the same time). Good for you for finding them a good home!
Oh, and Flight of the Conchords!? Why didn't I discover these guys earlier? (I knew I liked you!)
Don't feel too badly about it, she'll be running around all the time now! Maybe when your kiddos are a little older you can get a little more mellow dog. :D
Oh good... now I don't feel so bad about Rhed! :) I completely know how you feel... it's so hard with babies! We want to get another dog when we are done having kids and our youngest is like two or so...
Don't feel bad... you did the right thing for Hudson and Ruby! I didn't realize exactly how hard it was with Rhed until he was gone.
Sorry to hear about your loss, but I'm glad you sent her to a great home. Having a dog is tough stuff, let alone with two active boys! If your boys need a dog fix, my mom has two white hyper 3 lb. dogs they can play with just a couple streets away.
It has to be tough getting rid of a family member, but think of it as letting them give back. It sounds like the family is VERY excited and responsible and will definately give her the attention she needs. I don't know what your kid is going to do without the extra nutrients now though??? ;)
Humm, so was that really chicken we ate last night over there or was it Ruby and you've just made up this ellaborate story to cover your tracks...
See ya later, dogg (Randy Jackson immi)
Don't feel bad. We have had to do that with a few cats. We get one and I think that this time will be different, but it never is, so no more cats for us.
awww RUUUBY!!! i didn't get to say good bye *sniff* when i heard you talking to mom i thought that she had got hit by a car and max had seen, just like speck or whatever. that's good that she'll be loved!
how much did she go for? jw
Don't feel bad abou this. It was the right thing.
Thanks for the post that reminds me why I cant give in to my nice mom that gets her kids a pet voice!
You did the best for her and found her a good home!
