The Daily Grind

So, I know I haven't posted in a really long time. What can I say - I'm a huge slacker. Life's been pretty hectic around here lately, as we're still working on the potty training and I can't get out too much. Honestly though, there have been a few nights when Gerritt's been home and I can get out for a second to the grocery store COMPLETELY ALONE, and it is heaven!! There is something so magical about driving in the car without a crying baby or the painfully cheerful, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cd.

On the potty front - things are going suprisingly well after all. A friend recommended the book "Toilet Training In Less Than A Day", and I couldn't be more impressed with how easy it's been since I've been using their techniques! I think we're pretty much done! :) I've been venturing out more and more, to let him practice going potty outside the house, and he's been doing great! Nights and naptimes have been pretty much perfect too! Who knew he would pick it up so quick - it's only been, what - 2 weeks? I'm a happy mom!

Here are a few random shots from the last week -

Max inventing a new kind of hand lotion - butter. Yeah that was fun to clean up!

Doing some chores around the house. This kid LOVES to vacuum! I love to give him the attachments and let him do the entire kitchen and bathroom floors! He'll be doing his own laundry soon - I kid you not!!

On the treadmill like Mommy!

Paula Deen would FREAK over that misuse of butter. Tsk tsk. What are you teaching your son?

Also, I love the underwear and mommy's shoes! Ha. That's one for the wedding video!

Those pictures are hillarious! Way to go Max on the potty training! I completely know what you mean about going to the store alone... its an amazing feeling. Does the crying in the car ever stop? :)

Okay, your Max is a doll..buttered or not, he's a doll :)

Alone time is indeed heaven! I manage to enjoy long grocery lines when my kids aren't around. :)

I'm totally envious of your luck with potty training. I may need to have Max talk to Oliver before we get started, give him some pointers. lol

One of the BEST parts of going out alone not having to hassle with getting kids in and out of the car seat! aaaaaaahhhhhh

Too cute. Tyson loved to vacuum too. It was awesome and I definitely used it to my advantage!

Ha ha,
Don't they actually say if you're out of body cream to use butter or crisco or something?? You can feel good that your son is resourceful!
