Well, it happened. I've officially been domesticated! I made my first apple pie - from scratch - and even using apples just picked from our tree! (thank you to Gerritt for risking his life and limbs, climbing to the top of the thing instead of just using a ladder as I had suggested)
Anyway, it was flaky, the sweet apples were tender and cinnamon-y - it was DEElicious!
Next time I make it, the only thing I would change would be to put all the apples in. I freaked out when I saw how many there were, but I didn't know that they shrink down quite a bit.
Dang - I wish it wasn't all gone!
